My First Post: Starting This Journey

Welcome to my blog! I’m Nyko, a 22-year-old student at the University of Arizona, and I’m learning front-end development from the ground up.

Why I’m Building in Public

I’ve decided to document my learning journey publicly for a few reasons:

  1. Accountability - Writing about what I learn helps me stay consistent and motivated
  2. Learning by Teaching - Explaining concepts forces me to understand them deeply
  3. Community - Connecting with others who are on similar paths
  4. Portfolio - Building a real project to showcase my growing skills

What to Expect

I’ll be sharing:

  • Notes on what I’m learning (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, frameworks)
  • Mini-projects I’m working on
  • Challenges I’m facing and how I’m solving them
  • Resources I find helpful
  • Thoughts on being a student developer

The Tech Behind This Site

I built this blog using:

  • Astro - A modern static site generator that’s fast and developer-friendly
  • Tailwind CSS - For styling without writing custom CSS from scratch
  • Markdown - For writing blog posts simply and efficiently
  • Cloudflare Pages - For hosting and deployment

Starting simple and iterating as I learn more!

Let’s Connect

If you’re also learning front-end or have advice to share, I’d love to hear from you! You can find me on GitHub or reach out via email.

Here’s to the journey ahead! 🚀
